Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 support

Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 support

Microsoft has recently released to manufacturing both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 and they should be publicly available in a about a month.  We have verified our product on both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.  On  24 September 2012 we released a small patch to 2xDataEngine.exe so that the logs created by the backup engine show a proper OS string (e.g. Windows_8 or Windows_Server_2012 instead of Windows_6_2) such that all WholesaleBackup hosts and resellers will be able to push software upgrades to Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 clients when desired.
In summary, all recent versions of the WholesaleBackup product/installer run fine on Windows 8 and Windows 2012.  For backup hosts and resellers to be able to upgrade their Windows 8 customers in the future, they should use their latest installer in http://downloads.backupops.com for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 client installations.  For those clients running a pre-release version of either Windows 8 or Windows 2012, manually running a new setup.exe over a current install is all that is required to allow future automated upgrades…
